Two Ada development-oriented groups in the diaspora and home, Ada Noryami Kpe and Ada Okorbi Akpe, have put resources together to support victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage floods in Ada. The two groups and their local members have contributed to giving one of the biggest donated relief items to the victims of the flood in Ada. The group through its local counterparts donated assorted relief items including cartons of bar soaps and other toiletries, cartons of sanitary pads, used clothes, big pans of smoked tuna, etc. The group led by Naana Adede, Mr. Kofi Laweh, Mr. Abraham Martey, and other members presented the relief items at the three different temporal camps (safe havens) in Ada-Foah, Big-Ada, and Tetsonya. Speaking at the various camps, Naana Adede, extended the empathy of Ada Noryami Kpe and Ada Okorbi Akpe in the diaspora and home to the victims and assured them of their prayers. She advised them to put the items to good use. She also thanked the staff of NADMO for their support to the victims and asked them to ensure that the items get to the direct victims. The Ada-East District NADMO coordinator, Mr. Kisseh, was full of praise for the two groups for their support and said the fish could not have come at any better time. He said they’ve so far not been able to get enough fish for the victims, and the donation will go a long way to compliment the protein in the meals of the victims. Members of the group took time to interact with victims and also help distribute the fish to the victims. The victims were full of praise, and were particularly happy the group took its time to share the fish themselves. They said these relief items were well thought through and has come to answer their prayers.
